LaBron James' Birthday Party 12.30.09

LaBron James has a star studded birthday party this past Wednesday at BarRoom in Cleveland. The party guest list was open to the public, but at the last minute 8081 told everyone that the venue thought it would be best if they handled the guest list. I was extremely disappointed because I wanted to help the King celebrate! Luckily, DJ EV was in attendance and took some pics and video. Here's LaBron dancing and having a good time. DJ E-V Presents: Best of the Land 12.28.09

Kid Cudi, Chip the Ripper, and TMZ!

I am so proud of Kid Cudi for carrying the city on his back and giving Cleveland the shine we deserve. On the other hand, I'm getting tired of all the bad press he seems to keep getting. First he cussed out a Reebok rep after she asked him not to perform in Nikes at an event they booked him to perform. Next he showed his a$$ at a hotel by flipping out on his female friend in the lobby. He just punched a audience member in the face. Now TMZ has video of Cudi getting arrested by LAPD. He was quickly released which leads me to believe that they were just messing with him for DWB (driving while black). Chip tha Ripper and some others were with him and had a few words to say to the TMZ cameras.
Chip is in LA with Cudi doing promo and performances. He said that Cudi introduced him to Kanye and was excited about going with Cudi to The Tonight Show and Universal Studios. He's been tweeting about the trip since last nite. Here a a few flicks that he posted via TweetPhoto:

"Wit cudder doin soundcheck @ "The Tonight Show"."

Ladies of the Land 1 Year Anniversary Party

Ladies of the Land is the #1 movement of female entertainers in Ohio. I've had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with some of them. Shouts to Ms. Moone, Crazy Tee, Chevy Blue, and the rest of the ladies.
They celebrated their first anniversary with a party and performance at the Sea Level Lounge. I wasn't able to make it, but my homie, DJ Ball taped the performances. Check out the ladies!

Hendrix Estate Wins Judgement for $3.2 Million for Trademark Infringement

We all know that there are many people/"companies" in the ent./music business, that just throw logos around on fliers, magazines, & on the Internet with NO legal right. Right? Well, 2one6 is here to enlighten those in an effort to what could happen when you Illegal use a name, & or trademark which can cause some serious legal issues without written consent.

Seattle businessman Craig Dieffenbach and his Electric Hendrix LLC promoted a vodka named "Hendrix Electric" after a legend rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix, which claimed the spirit infringed on the Hendrix trademark. Experience Hendrix, the company that controls the trademark won a judgement of $3.2 million dollars and has ordered Dieffenbach and his companies to stop selling and marketing the vodka or any other products branded with the Hendrix name.

"This judgment recognizes our family's long-standing commitment to preserve the Jimi Hendrix legacy and artistic vision," Jimi's stepsister, Janie Hendrix, said in a written statement.

The Hendrix estate believes that Jimi's name or image should not be used to promote alcohol due to Hendrix's death by a sleeping pill overdose in 1970, at age 27. Experience Hendrix does market a wide variety of Hendrix-themed promotional items.

In late 2005, Dieffenbach began marketing the vodka in purple-tinted bottles with a Jimi Hendrix likeness and signature above the label. The estate sued him in 2007.

Cleveland's Duo :: Kid Cudi & Chip Tha Ripper = The Almighty GloryUs

Let's just say that I believe that, "the tune of new music shall resonate through the nation for many to hear the rebirth within Cleveland (2one6)." For many many years our city, has been musically related to the Bone Thugs & Harmony Era along with the thuggish rap persona rapper style, but No longer are we "that," but we are now in a New Age of musicians that is breeding a new bunch of talented M.C.'s with great music.

Cleveland's own Kid Cudi & Chip Tha Ripper are just to say a few that can be crowned "skilled" as they are looking to release a collaboration album, and form a Cleveland duo The Almighty GloryUs. Sources from Cudi's blog released that after the debut of  his album this year on G.O.O.D Music, that his plans are to work with his homie Chip Tha Ripper

“After the release of my debut album this summer I’ll be doing a collab album with my homeboy Chip Tha Ripper in which we form the duo ‘The Almighty GloryUs,’”Cudi stated. “On my album I’ll include our first single from our album which we haven’t even started, but I’m just excited about the project.”

Cudi has also just rapped up the video for the "original" Day & Night video shoot in Los Angeles, directed by himself in which K. Cudi is also responsible for directing Kanye's "Good Life" video. The Moon Man isn't stopping there, as his plans are starting a label of his own, called Dream On. “I formed my own record label with Plain Pat and Emile Haynie called Dream On which will combine with G.O.O.D. Music as a joint venture.”

With enthused ears and much success from Kid Cudi we here at 2one6 bring you the Pulse to The City!

Album, entitled Man on the Moon: The Guardians, is tentatively scheduled for a summer release this year with features from Chip Tha Ripper, Charles Hamilton, 88-Keys, will.i.am, and Alchemist.
